William Ashley Trophy Reveal

Today was an exciting day for all of us at Honda Indy Toronto. The championship trophies for the event were revealed this morning at William Ashley’s downtown Toronto flagship location.

The trophies are crafted from Waterford Crystal, and are hand-blown in Waterford, Ireland. The first-place trophy took one person 48 hours to make and was etched by hand with a remarkable rendering of the Toronto skyline.

The event was attended by Verizon IndyCar Series Drivers Robert Wickens and Sebastien Bourdais, both of whom have their sights set on taking home one of these beautiful trophies this weekend. Sebastien had a couple of laughs as he was handed a cutout version of the trophy that he was able to drop (similar to the unfortunate events that took place at the 2014 Honda Indy Toronto with his trophy).

Honda Indy Toronto President Jeff Atkinson was also in attendance, and he said “It takes excellence, skill and precision to win the Honda Indy Toronto.  These William Ashley trophies exude those same qualities and are coveted possessions for the winners. Honda Indy Toronto is proud to have William Ashley, a truly iconic Toronto brand, involved in this great event.”

William Ashley will be further showcasing their products this weekend as the Honda Indy Toronto show car will be resting on 4 teacups at the race, as it has been at the William Ashley located on Bloor Street in downtown Toronto. The trophies will also be on display over the course of the weekend until they are presented to the eventual podium finishers.
